We are proud to announce that emerchantpay has been named FinTech of the Year 2026 at the Brit Fintech Awards.
The Brit Fintech Awards celebrate businesses and individuals contributing to the development of financial technology across the UK. The awards bring together professionals and organisations across banking, payments, acquiring and money services, recognising achievements that help shape the future of financial services.
This recognition reflects emerchantpay’s contribution to the fintech industry and our commitment to developing payment solutions that help businesses navigate an increasingly complex payments landscape. By combining payment expertise, technology and dedicated client support, we help businesses address their payment needs and adapt to changing customer expectations.
Sigurdur Gudmundsson, Chief Commercial Officer at emerchantpay, said:
“Being named FinTech of the Year at the Brit Fintech Awards 2026 is a proud moment for emerchantpay and a recognition of the work our teams do every day to help businesses navigate an increasingly complex payments landscape. We remain focused on combining payment expertise, technology and strong client relationships to deliver solutions that meet our clients’ evolving needs. Thank you to our colleagues, clients and partners who continue to be part of this journey.”
Building on previous recognition
This is the second consecutive year that emerchantpay has been recognised at the Brit Fintech Awards. In 2025, we won Payment Acquirer of the Year, recognising our work in payment acquiring and our focus on helping businesses accept and manage payments across channels and markets. Our 2026 award builds on this achievement and reflects our continued contribution to the wider fintech industry.
Our achievements this year extend beyond the Brit Fintech Awards. We also won two categories at The FinTech Awards 2026: Best FinTech for Personal Banking, Personal Payments and Money Management and Best FinTech for Hospitality and Catering. These awards recognise our work supporting businesses across different sectors and payment use cases.
Looking ahead
We would like to thank our colleagues, clients and partners for their continued trust and collaboration. These achievements reflect the collective effort behind our work and the relationships that help us continue to develop our services.
As payment needs and customer expectations evolve, we remain focused on helping businesses manage their payment operations, reach new markets and deliver payment experiences that work for their customers. We look forward to building on this recognition and continuing to support our clients’ ambitions.
